Karul Holo Science India Limited is a public company formed by bringing together renowned technocrats from within the hologram and foil industry to cater to the ever-growing global demand in authentication and packaging across different industries by providing specialized innovative solutions that the brands need.

Past few years the industry has seen a boom in the need to implement sustainable authentication and packaging solutions. Being aware of this rising need our technocrats have been successful in developing a range of eco-friendly solutions to various authentication, packaging and label industries. Our Technocrats have 30 years of experience in the filed of Security foil development and they are continuously inventing new innovative products in our highly sophisticated and advanced lab to overcome daily increasing counterfeit problems.

We utilize the most advanced foil chemistry developed by us through our intense R&D efforts for different substrates while maintain the different quality parameters unique for every customer as per their needs.

At present, the basis of all of all our foil formulations are based on the following chemical reaction mechanisms:

Our core strength lies in our ability to develop unique colors exclusive to our customers. These unique colors are developed in such a way that it is impossible to copy it.
We have the most sophisticated photolithographic techniques that enable us to incorporate unique covert and overt features into a hologram design.

Metallization Techniques
  1. Aluminium Metallization
    • Most common and economical metallization technique.
    • Purity of Aluminium used is 99.98%
    • Mainly applied for holograms used in indoor applications.
  2. HRI / Zinc Sulfide Metallization
    • HRI metallized holograms refract 70% of the incident falling on it and reflect the remaining 30%.
    • Mainly used for high security holograms for anti-counterfeiting applications.
    • HRI metallized holograms are used for stamping and lamination on ID cards.
  3. Chrome Metallization
    • Chrome metallization is highly sophisticated and arduous metallization technique.
    • Chrome deposition is the most stable among the different physical vapor deposition techniques. Hence, it is used to develop holograms for High Security Registered Vehicle Plate.
  4. Copper Metallization
    • Copper metallization is used to develop special hot stamping holograms with copper tone.
    • Copper metallized holograms are good conductors of electricity and are non-toxic as per REACH and ROHS standards.
  5. Paper Metallization
    • We can provide direct and transfer metallized paper.
    • Any customized design or pattern can be provided for label and eco-friendly pouch packaging industries.

Hologram Master Origination

Upon the receipt of hologram design and authorization letter from the brand owner, the artwork of the design is developed using softwares such as Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, AutoDesk 3D etc…

The final artwork is shared with the Customer for approval. The Master Origination is only carried out after the receipt of the approval.

The approved artwork is converted into a machine-readable format suitable for the Hologram Originator, while incorporating different holographic features as per Customer’s demand to generate the most intricate hologram design.

Hologram Master Origination

The Hologram Origination is done on photosensitive polymer coated glass plate. Depending upon the size and complexity of the design time of hologram master origination may vary from a few hours to days. Following this, the glass master is treated in a Developer solution.

The treated glass master is recombined on a specialized 50-micron thick PET film using UV lacquer via the fully automatic UV Recombination machine.

The PET hologram master treated with Silvering chemicals to ensure that the PET Master is suitable for Electroforming process to generate Nickel Shims.

In the electroforming process, the Nickel Sulfamate solution is used as the electrolyte. While, the nickel pellets act as the anode and the PET master applied on the cylindrical roller acts as the cathode. As the current passes through the system, Nickel pellets get deposited on the PET master, creating a mirror replica of the of hologram design (Shim) master.
